Typography Meets Photography - Self Portrait

This picture is a self-portrait which is supposed to represent me.  I decided to make RJ larger than my last name because I feel that it is more iconic, and I feel that my nickname better defines me.  Everyone knows me by RJ, which is a nickname given to me by my mom on day one.  I created the RJ out of two lowercase R's, rotating the second 180 degrees in order to represent a "J".  The result is a simple logo-looking representation of my name.  The general overtone I wanted viewers to feel is that I tend to be simple, classic, and reserved; nothing too flashy.  I also wanted it to represent that I generally like to be taken seriously, however I am an easy-going and typically relaxed person.  I feel that the gesture and shape of the "RJ", as well as the calm and respectful "Colonna" underneath, expresses this about me.

While the shape expresses my personality, the pictures masked inside the letters do as well.  I used a picture of myself taking pictures in Puerto Rico inside of the "R" to show my interest in photography, one of my favorite hobbies.  I also like the fact that it was taken in Puerto Rico because I love to travel, however, one would not necessarily notice where the picture was taken.  Inside the "J" I used a picture of my guitar that I had taken previously to represent my love of music.  It also happens to be a photograph I have taken previously, therefore it also reinforces the representation of my interest in photography.

This Post is a Test

This is my test post so that I can see how the formatting will come out.  I am currently watching A Goofy Movie with my friend Branden Stewart.  It is one of our all time favorite movies.  This is a link to the Wikipedia page of the movie.
